Add, modify and delete aircraft (iOS)

Pilot Logbook presents a list of all aircraft that have been saved by selecting Aircraft in the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar. Any changes to these aircraft will be reflected in every flight across your logbook.

Add a new aircraft

  1. In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Aircraft from the Settings tab or from the navigation sidebar.
  2. Click the Add New button  in the top toolbar.
  3. Enter the new aircraft details.
    • A registration must be entered, and a type selected to allow the aircraft to be saved.
    • To view or modify a type click the Info button next to the selected aircraft type.
    • A new type can be added by clicking the Add New button  in the top toolbar when the list of available types is displayed.
  4. Click the Done button to save the new aircraft.
    You can cancel adding the new aircraft by clicking the Cancel button from the More menu in the top toolbar.

Modify an aircraft

Modifying an aircraft’s details will change the information across your logbook. All flights which are linked to this aircraft will reflect the modified values.

  1. In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Aircraft from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar to display a list of all currently saved aircraft.
  2. Click the aircraft you want to modify from the list.
  3. Change the aircraft details.
    • A registration must be entered, and a type selected to allow the aircraft to be saved.
    • To view or modify a type click the Info button next to the selected aircraft type.
    • A new type can be added by clicking the Add New button  in the top toolbar when the list of available types is displayed.
  4. Click the Done button to save the changes to the aircraft.
    You can cancel any changes by clicking the Cancel button from the More menu in the top toolbar.

Merge aircraft

Saved aircraft may be merged together. This may be useful if you have unwanted multiple entries of the same aircraft. Aircraft which are selected for merging will be combined into a new singular aircraft. All flights which were previously linked to the original two aircraft will now be linked to the new merged aircraft instead.

  1. In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Aircraft from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar to display a list of all currently saved aircraft.
  2. Enable selection of aircraft by clicking the Select button from the More menu in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture.
  3. Select the aircraft that you want to merge with and click the Merge button in the bottom toolbar.
  4. Select the aircraft that you want to keep.
  5. Click the Merge button.

Delete aircraft

Deleting an aircraft will permanently remove the aircraft from your logbook. The aircraft will be removed from all flights to which it is linked.

  1. In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Aircraft from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar.
  2. From the list of all currently saved aircraft do one of the following:
    • Enable selection of aircraft by clicking the Select button from the More menu in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture. Select the aircraft you want to delete and then click the Delete button in the bottom toolbar.
    • Click the aircraft you want to delete and click the Delete button from the More menu in the top toolbar.
