Add, modify and delete flights (iOS)
Pilot Logbook presents a list of all flights that have been saved by selecting the Flights page. Flights can be added manually, or can be imported from a csv file.
Add a new flight
- In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select the Flights tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar.
- With the Flights tab selected click the Add New button
in the top toolbar. - Enter the new flight details following the guidance on adding flight details below.
- Click the Done button to save the new flight.
You can cancel adding the new flight by clicking the Cancel button
from the More menu
in the top toolbar.
Add a return flight
- In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select the Flights tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar.
- With the Flights tab selected long press the flight for which you want to create a return.
- From the menu click the Add Return
button. - Enter the new flight details following the guidance on adding flight details below.
- Click the Done button to save the new flight.
You can cancel adding the new flight by clicking the Cancel button
from the More menu
in the top toolbar.
Adding flight details
- You must have entered a Date value, entered times in the Departure(UTC) and Arrival(UTC) fields, selected an Aircraft and selected a pilot as Pilot 1 to save a flight.
- To view or modify a selected aircraft, pilot, or airport click the Info button
next to the item you want to view. A new aircraft, pilot or airport can be added by clicking the Add New button
in the top toolbar when the list of available aircraft, pilots or airports is displayed. - If the selected aircraft is a simulator then the Departure Airport and Arrival Airport fields are disabled.
- Departure and Arrival times can be set up to a maximum of 23 hours and 59 minutes apart.
- Select the pilot in command of the flight as Pilot 1, and any second pilot as Pilot 2.
- You can manually enter duration times or use the Autofill function to calculate these for you by selecting the Autofill toggle on. To learn more about automatic time calculations see the Automatic time calculations help page.
The Autofill toggle will be selected on by default if you have Automatically calculate times selected on in your Time Preferences.
Modify a flight
- In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select the Flights tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar.
- Click the flight you want to modify from the list to open.
- Change the flight details following the guidance above.
- Click the Done button to save the changes to the flight.
You can cancel any changes by clicking the Cancel button
from the More menu
in the top toolbar.
Delete flights
Deleting a flight will permanently remove the flight from your logbook.
In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select the Flights tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar and do one of the following:
- Enable selection of flights by clicking the Select button
from More menu
in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture. Select the flights you want to delete and click the Delete button in the bottom toolbar. - Click the flight you want to delete to open and then click the Delete button
from the More menu
in the top toolbar.
