Add, modify and delete pilots (iOS)

Pilot Logbook presents a list of all pilots that have been saved by selecting Pilots in the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar. Any changes to these pilots will be reflected in every flight across your logbook.

Add a new pilot

In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select the Settings tab in the bottom bar.
Select Pilots to display a list of all currently saved pilots.
Click the Add New button in the top toolbar.
Enter the new pilot details. At least a first or last name must be entered to allow the pilot to be saved.
Click the Done button to save the new pilot.
You can cancel adding the new pilot by clicking the Cancel button from the More menu in the top toolbar.

Modify a pilot

Modifying a pilot’s details will change the information across your logbook. All flights which are linked to this pilot will reflect the modified values.

In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Pilots from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar to display a list of all currently saved pilots.
Click the pilot you want to modify from the list.
Change the pilot details. At least a first or last name must be entered to allow the pilot to be saved.
Click the Done button to save the changes to the pilot.
You can cancel any changes by clicking the Cancel button from the More menu in the top toolbar.

Swap pilot first and last names

You can swap the first and last names of saved pilots. This may be useful if you have imported names from a CSV file with an incorrect Name Format setting.

In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Pilots from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar to display a list of all currently saved pilots.
Enable selection of pilots by clicking the Select button from the More menu in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture.
Select the pilots for which you want to swap names and click the Swap button in the bottom toolbar.

Merge pilots

Saved pilots may be merged together. This may be useful if you have unwanted multiple entries of the same pilot. Pilots which are selected for merging will be combined into a new singular pilot. All flights which were previously linked to the original two pilots will now be linked to the new merged pilot instead.

In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Pilots from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar to display a list of all currently saved pilots.
Enable selection of pilots by clicking the Select button from the More menu in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture.
Select the pilots that you want to merge together and click the Merge button in the bottom toolbar..
Select the pilot that you want to keep. If you have selected yourself to be merged (i.e. ‘SELF’) then the pilot you are keeping will become the new ‘SELF’.
Click the Merge button.

Delete pilots

Deleting a pilot will permanently remove the pilot from your logbook. The pilot will be removed from all flights to which it is linked. You may not delete yourself (i.e. ‘SELF’).

In the Pilot Logbook app on your iPhone or iPad, select Pilots from the Settings tab in the bottom bar or from the navigation sidebar.
From the list of all currently saved pilots do one of the following:
- Enable selection of pilots by clicking the Select button from the More menu in the top toolbar or by using two finger drag gesture. Select the pilots you want to delete and then click the Delete button in the bottom toolbar.
- Click the pilot you want to delete and click the Delete button from the More menu in the top toolbar.
